How deposit bonuses work
A deposit bonus adds extra balance when you fund your account, usually as a match such as 100% up to a cap. The extra funds normally come with wagering requirements, meaning you must place bets worth a multiple of the bonus before you can withdraw it.
Terms that matter more than the percentage
- Wagering multiple. A 35x requirement on a bonus is far harder to clear than 10x.
- Whether wagering covers the deposit as well as the bonus.
- Maximum bet while the bonus is active, and which games contribute.
- Expiry. Many bonuses lapse after a few days or weeks.
- Maximum cashout on winnings from the bonus.
Run the numbers with the bonus calculator to see the total you have to wager and the expected cost of clearing it.
Play responsibly
A bonus is not free money. If the terms push you to stake more than you planned, skipping it is often the better choice.
